It has been scientifically proven that stress can be responsible for premature ageing and because of this we at Aromathérapie feel we have a responsibility to our customers to offer tips and ideas on easy ways to help combat stress.
One of the best ways to combat stress is when you are given techniques to try, make sure you do them. Knowing them does nothing except inform you .Practice gets results.
1. Buy a watch with an hourly chime to remind you to do these exercises (and wear it).
2. Check yourself every hour when your watch chimes and become aware of your stress level. Notice tension ,often held in neck, shoulders, jaw or head. Check for anxiety or other negative feelings(you can't change what you aren't aware of). You might be lucky your stress levels may be low, whatever they are you have a yard stick to measure them by.
3. When you have checked the level every hour(this takes seconds so no excuses) tighten the muscles in that area of tension for fifteen seconds(real tight)and relax. Repeat a few times. This contracting and releasing will release the tension.
4. On the chime let your tongue sit on the floor of your mouth and let your jaw drop approx one inch. This releases tension in your jaw which is an area where we can hold a lot of tension and are not aware of it (I know you can't do this if you are eating or in the middle of a conversation.... use your imagination).
5. Lick your lips and breathe in through your mouth and be aware of the cooling effect of your breath on your lips. This cooling helps you re-focus and stay calm(try it right now and notice how well it works)
6. As you all know Aromathérapie oils added to our products have been used for thousands of years to combat stress. Customers comment on how they are sleeping better since starting to use them. If you are not using them it might be worth starting, or visit one of our participating salons and book stress relieving treatment. Salon list is available on the F.A.Q page on this site.
These are only a few tips of many that I have and I will post new tips and ideas as well as full articles on Stress Management, Getting the Life You Want, Confidence Building,Dealing with Anxiety and many more.
Until you log in again,
